Powder measures

Post by Dean Jasper »

What is everyones experience with a good powder measure. I have heard good things about both the Belding and the Harrell Culver.

Dean,

I have the Harrel Premium, and I find it extremely accurate and consistent. When I asked Mr. Harrel what the difference was between the Premium and the Classic his answer was "Seventy dollars". He said they are exactly the same in every way except that the Classic has some fancy covering over the mechanism and therefore costs more. He suggested the Premium over the Classic. They are great people to do business with too.

I just received my Harrell's Premium measure today. I purchased both the smokeless and black powder parts, plus a stand. Total cost was $286.

Smokeless parts = two drop tubes & tube adapter + plastic powder bottle.
Black Powder parts = adapter to eliminate drop tube + aluminum tube with aluminum cap.

I haven't used it yet so I can't provide a review.
Good judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment.
