Hey got some scores for the first match (Monday Tuesday) tin cans.
These were given to me in PDF format, so I cannot manipulate them to make them easier to read on line.
Monday was a hell day. Targets were blowing down so fast that I don't know if I shot any full banks of animals for anything but chickens. I shot poorly too with a borrowed rifle.
Today, the conditions were absolutelly bluebird perfect but the scores were not much different. Brad rice is first with a 46, Gullo with a 45, Rix with a .45.
I shot .22 silhouette and had a great time but I don't have any results recored except my own.
Anyway, this is the url for the PDF files

The Wednesday conditions started out abysmal and then lightened a little and then became abysmal again. It was hard relentless winds. Scores were pretty low overall, though I have none specifically to report. I have heard that John Vanwey shot a very good score, but not a master score, and Gullo and Rix shot a bit worse than they did the first day. So, the MW group has condensed. If conditions are good tomorrow, chances are someone in that group will emerge the winner.
Down on the 22 range some good scores have been shot. I had some good shooting of my own and others have done very well with more scores over 30 than I remember from the previous 2 yrs. If you haven't shot .22 bpcr silhouette, then you have missed out on one of the funnest and most challenging match formats I have ever seen. Some folks come for no reason other than to shoot .22 silhouette. There are really exquisite .22 rilfes all over the place and some folks really know how to use them.
I don't know a lot about what happens on midrange since I am not over there. I have heard that a woman from Michigan shot a national record yesterday, but I can't tell you who it was, nor what the event was.
I'll try to get scores from silhouette tomorrow night. Is anybody looking at these things?

You'd have to be blind not to look at this report
Since I couldn't be there, thank you.

You are welcome. I'll get more when I can as long as someone is looking. Mark Schenk (sp?) will try to get midrange scores tonight.
Al Sledge's son was 4 back of Chip Mate in prone (Ithink) after one day. That may not seem super remarkable but he has not shot very much bpcr, and never midrange bptr. And then his rifle broke (Shiloh transfer bar). I was shooting .22 with his dad, Al at the time, about 2 miles away. I have been using Al's other 74 Shiloh, so I gave his sweetheart, Laura, the key to my room to get that rifle and so he could use it. But I forgot to tell her to grab the brown case. She got the green one - Axtell .45-90 - not Shiloh .45-70, but someone let Doug finish his target with another rifle and then Laura and Al finally got the right rifle from my room, swapped out the blocks and lever and got to the line just in time to not miss a shot. All that, plus spotting for himself (no one was paired with him) and yet he was just back of the leader. Made for interesting evening bull sessions.
Hell of a lot of fun, even for me, and NO ONE is shooting worse than I am, at least on the bpcr silhouette line.

Brent,
Your reports on Raton have been the best I've ever seen for any match. Keep them coming, and thanks for all your effort in putting this together each day; often after a full day of shooting to boot. Nicely done.

Brent, We shooters who aren't there are looking. We like to read about the conditions and of course the scores are important to us. We really appreciate the effort you have put into this. We've never had it this good! Thank you. _________________ "Perfection consists not so much in doing extraordinary things as in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well" |

Man, I was wondering if anyone was out there. Good! I'll keep them coming.
It is 6:20 am and I'll be shooting .22 today. the boys on the hill shooting the big tincans are looking to have another bluebird-cherry-pickin' perfect day. I think they are going to get it. I'll have the final results tonight IF I can get them from the staff. they are going 90 mph after the last shot is fired, and I don't want to push them.
Posted a few pictures from yesterday on the bpcr.net site.
MD, my .22 is a fairly radical lowwall. Quite fairly called a "race gun" if such a thing can be made from a .22.
Gotta find a clean shirt - I suddenly noticed that I smell like last night's grilled beef ribs. You guys are missed out!
