Hello..
New member here. I have just received a Shiloh 1874 Long Range Express rifle in .45-70. Will start loading for it shortly. Just wondering what the size of the bore actually is - I can always slug it but thought it might be fairly uniform from rifle to rifle.
Went to the Quigley for the first time in June, as a spectator, and plan to return next year as a shooter. The trip to Forsyth spurred me to order a Shiloh Sharps although I have had a Model 1863 since 1977.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

An excellent plan, and while you are getting acquainted, cast the chamber, too.MacRob46 wrote:I have just received a Shiloh 1874 Long Range Express rifle in .45-70. Will start loading for it shortly. Just wondering what the size of the bore actually is.

Re: Bore Size
Shiloh makes some of the very best barrels there is.
Run .458"-.459" dia and you'll do just fine.
