Whence did the Postal Matches go?
I could swear I posted a note about the April 200/800 yd Postal Match for April but it and nearly all other threads about these postal matches seems to have disappeared. Were they posted in another part of the forum? Searching doesn't provide anything like the threads that contained the rules.

Well that's interesting!! Just thought you were taking a break before starting the next one. Maybe some one had a copyright on them !!
The March match doesn't even show up when I search my posts.

Yeah, I don't get it. I was actually going to post a few targets from last weekend that could EASILY be beaten.
I spent half an hour looking for those posts last night.

It is very strange. No record of my posts in those threads either.

Well, if anyone happened to print or memorize those rules. I'd love to see someone post a copy, and maybe we can get started again. I can't imagine that there would be any problem with it. Maybe just some fluke.

Re: Whence did the Postal Matches go?
The original match is still there
Since many wanting to shoot the postal only have shorter ranges, I've modified it.
1. unlimited sighters, then 10 shots for score. ( no converted shots)
2. Any BP cartridge, any powder (cast bullets only)
3. Enter as many times as you want
4. Provide your own target. (anything of appropriate size will work)
5. sitting or prone cross sticks ( Benchrest if you absolutely can't shoot any other way.)
6. iron or scope sights
7. Scoring:
a. Measure each shot in inches from target center
b. add 10 shots to get total score
c. On 800 yd target, anything over 24" from center (including misses) count as 25
Final score
For 800 yards multiply total inches by 1 to get final score
For 400 yards multiply total inches by 2.25 to get final score
For 200 yards multiply total inches by 5 to get total score
(this is just an experimental match don't dwell on it)
8. provide picture of target and rifle to enter. (and loading data as pertinent)
9. this one ends Jan 31.
10. Lowest score wins
there will be a drawing from all the participants for a gift cert to one of the shooting supply stores.
Now someone go shoot
