October matches at Miller Kansas

Post by VectorMan »

Miller
On 10-19 and 10-20 we had our last silhouette match at Miller Kansas. The weather was in the mid to upper 60’s with a 12 to 15 mph N wind on Saturday switching to a 20 to 25 mph wind from the SSE. Both days were a little tricky picking up the wind changes but the scores weren’t too bad. Saturday we had 13 shooters with 7 on Sunday. There were 2 surprises at the matches, both matches were free , saving the shooters 25 dollars a day and there were prizes given along with the normal plaques and medals handed out. 2 prizes were given out each day to the top 2 shooters. Prizes each day were a 1000 Federal 210M primers and a $25 gift certificate from SPG.

The highlight of the weekend was Saturday evening about 5 of us went back to Rick Anderson’s lodge called The Hideout and fixed steaks on the grill with potato salad, baked beans and carmelized onions. A few quality beers were drank also. It was pretty good eating. The next morning we had an awesome breakfast there of eggs, bacon, sausage and toast. Many thanks to Brent Danielson for bringing his grill and cooking. I’m hoping to make it a usual Saturday evening get together in 2020 for the matches at Miller.

It was one of my best times shooting there.

Was great to see a lot of shooters Saturday! I was down to my last 100 primers! Now I am set for next season. Thanks Kevin Alexander for donating them.
