"One for the Book"

Post by nineteen76 »

Folks,
Like Manny, this is not a Sharps story, but interesting just the same.
The Whitetail in the pictures was arrowed by my son Josh last week
north and west of West Des Moines, Iowa.
Pope and Young Gross "Green" Score is 178" and will Net in the upper 160's. as a typical 5X5. With just an 18 1/2" inside spread, this buck ads up the inches with mass (6" bases and 7 1/2" circumferences between the G-2 and G-3's) and some awesome tine length.
In this world of High Dollar Fenced In Pen Hunts, it is nice to know there are still some free ranging deer of this caliber.
Buck was taken on an 1800 acre farm from a treestand, 30 feet in the air at 12 yards distance. Arrow entered the RH side just behind the front leg
and exited through the heart............a perfect shot...............A Proud Hunter.......a prouder (is that a word?) Father.
Thanks,
Chris

Congratulations thats a very nice buck, it's good to see a young guy get a good one like that. The only problem he is going to have a hard time topping it:) But he will have fun trying.

76, now that is a GREAT deer. That would be once in a lifetime in out part of the country. Congatulations definitely in order.

Josh
No words of mine can hope to convey to you the ringing joy and hope embodied in that spontaneous yell: “The Americans are coming; at last they are coming!”

I hadn’t the heart to disillusion them.

I don't know that I have ever seen brow tines that heavy and forked to less!

A absolute true " Wall Hanger " if there ever was one! Thanks for sharing.
