I ordered a 50-90 sharps in Oct. but I'm really can't decide between
it or a 45-110. Would really appreciate any help anyone can give me,
such as pros and cons of each caliber.

#1 sporter 34" heavy oct. extra fancy wood, AAA finish

plus other extras.

Sparky,

It would help to know what you plan on shooting the most with it, ie. hunting, long range, etc.

All of the above. No competition, just areal nice rifle and alot
of fun.

Sparky,

I'd take the 50-90 and shoot a buffalo.

Sparky,

Just ordered a 50-90 myself (#3, 30" heavy oct., bone case, extra fancy, AA finish) - you can't go wrong with either caliber. In my case, already have .40's and .45's, but no .50's - mine is going to be a hunting gun and a recoil-sensitivty training tool!

My 2 cents. Take it for what it's worth.

Why punish your shoulder. Go with the 40-70 SS. It's accurate for both Long and shorter ranges depending on your loading.

Just my 2 cents.

I have a marlin guide gun in 45/70 and shoot 405 grain

bullets at 2000 ft per sec and it doesn't bother me at all.

Anyway haven't you heard Bigger is Better ! :P
