Looking for 45-70 mold

I see mention of the BACO 459542M3 but it is not in stock. So I am thinking to go with the Lyman 457132 if accessible. But the question is if there is an alternative supplier to BACO for the same BACO 459542M3 bullet. I looked at Accurate and it seems they only do flat nosed most like due to limits of lathe tooling. Is there anyone else?

I have been using the 457121-PH with good results at shorter ranges but want to extend beyond 200 yards.
Thank you,
Charles

Just call Buffalo Arms and place it on order, they will have it ready as soon as it is in its turn.

Most BACO molds are not in stock but made to order. They are far better than the Lyman molds as far as Im concerned. I own quite a few bacos and several of the others. They just seem easier to cast with and I get nicer more consistent bullets. It normally dosent take long to get your molds. Mike

Dont hesitate to place an order with BACo for the design you're after. I doubt very much you'll be waiting very long. While I've used and still have several Lyman and RCBS moulds, I'd give the nod to Kal, BACo, Steve Brooks and Accurate every time. The number in BACo's mould design inventory would make it prohibitive to hold shelf stock. I've rarely waited more than a few weeks for a BACo mould but of course it depends how many are ahead of you. You wont be disappointed. A very good product from a very supportive company. Give them a call and get it rolling. To that I'd just add that the 1/8" minimum meplat in any Acc. mold design, at least in 44 cal or above, 'for me at least'...has not manifested itself as a problem with regard bullet performance at long range. I remain the weak link... every time.

Check out Tom over at www.accuratemolds.com
All are lathe bored and sized to your desired alloy.
I have one of his 46-507C in iron blocks.
I can hold +/- 1/2 grain when casting and hold 3/4” to 1” groups off the bench at 100 yards for 5 shots…

I have two brass moulds that Tom made for me. One for the .444 Marlin and the other for the .30-30 93 Marlin rifle.
I will say the .444 mould is a double cavity and both bullets drop out identical in weight and diameters. It's the only multi cavity mould that does this that I have used in the past for pistol bullseye matches.
That small meplat wont hurt a thing as far as you want to shoot it.
I had Tom duplicate the Lyman 121PH for me at a proper diameter for the .45 caliber and he put it in his catalog. I have shot that bullet out to 1026 yards and it hit more than it missed in a good Montana breeze. Don't count the flat nosed bullets short. They work.

Ba will make your mould and you will get it in short time.

Don't let the "not in stock" deter you from placing your BACO mold order. Get on the phone, you will have your mold in a surprisingly short period of time. In the end, you will not be disappointed in your decision.
