45/70 Cartridge Storage

Post by BlackRock52 »

Does it matter if the loaded cartridges are stored nose up or nose down? They are greasers with no grease ring showing. Received a wooden cartridge holder box and the holes are too small for upright storage with the caliber label on the top showing. Probably a silly question ...

Thanks -- that happens to be the only way they fit!

Yes. Bullet down. Lots of room to rattle around if there's enough space for the rim to go down first.

I go base down, bullet up ,with a bit of foam in the lid of the box to stop rattles
