Swaging materials question…
I use Imperial sizing die wax on my .45 cal pp MB’s to run them through my Lee swaging die. Does anyone have a better way to remove the wax from the bullet after swaging other than rubbing it off with a dry cloth? Is there a good aerosol that does the same job…?

Maybe I misunderstand, but Robert are you sizing before patching? If so you may prefer what I am doing. I sometimes size down .446" bullets prior to patching when using them in my .45-110 bull barrel rifle. I use water soluble RCBS case sizing lube on the bullets. I just rinse them of for a while in hot water and then set them on a paper towel to dry.

Chris,
My Money bullets cast at .444”. They get swaged through a .443 Lee die. I then dry-wrap them with 100% cotton paper for a perfect bore fit.
I had no idea RCBS made a water-solvable FL sizing lube. This is what I’ll buy tomorrow at Sportsman’s or Amazon. Thanks, pal.

Re: Swaging materials question…
I size my PP bullets after they are patched. That way I know they will all fit the bore with the same tension.
Keep on hav'n fun!

I size them after being patched also. Besides the OD being correct, the bottom of the patch gets a nice sharp fold. FM

.450 for cartridge, .4485 for muzzleloader. The ,4485 will work for both so long as the cartridge has some grip on the patched bullet so it slips out.

No, don’t want to breath that nasty stuff, sir. I’d rather swage with the water-soluble Lee sizing lube, and rinse in hot, soapy water, and lay them on a towel to dry.

Open Country, my sizing die is 0.448 diameter for my heavy barrel Ballard. I use a 0.4503 diameter for my high wall. Both rifles use the same bullet mold. Keep on having fun.

I use a Meacham neck die to reduce the fired case necks just enough to snugly hold the patched ball. I anneal as well after each firing.

Opencountry , you have a wonderful collection of sizing bushings. I wish that they were still available for purchase. Tim
