On the road between Billings and Roundup. --- A Dodge Omni standing up
to the test!!! it was screamin' though! The elk is bigger than the
car - notice the 2x6 supports he has so the roof doesn't cave in.

Kelley, These pics and along with the little naration that goes with it was sent to me by my brother in an e-mail. He's always sending me little funny pics and such. I thought yall might enjoy this one considering its subject matter and all. 8) Come to think of it, they do kinda look like scaffold planks. I bet these guys just got off of work from some construction sight, hit their elk honey hole, got lucky , than had to go back to job sight and "borrow" some planks. Heck, scenario 2, They probably popped the elk on thier lunch break, Grabbed the fork truck from the jobsight and planks and ever so gently drapped said gargantuan elk atop testosteroniacly challenged vehicle. :o How else did they get it up there? I dont see many stout trees. Oh to be a fly on the wall for this one. So how is it you Monanans? Do you guys hunt on your lunch breaks the way Louisiannans fish on theirs?

kamotz,

Well, I'm admiring it, envious too  wouldn't mind having that Elk.

Can you imagine how hard it was to put all that dead weight up on that cars roof.

The pictures remind me of an advertisment I once saw of a guy cutting a tree down across his to closely parked car. The glass is the only thing keeping the elk from sqwashing the roof down to the body. Great pictures!
Bet that Omni will never be the same again. SSD

Reminds me of too many years ago when my wife and I first started Montana elk hunting. She was in the right place at the right time when Mr Big came by - she kept shooting at him with her 358 but he wouldn't fall. Hit him 5 for 7. We hauled him back to Minnesota on a borrowed motorcycle trailer - talk about fun on the CB's (for you younger readers - CB's were popular before cell phones.)

Thanks Kamotz. My ex had an Omni for a while, and it sure was a lousy car, which makes this achievement even more admirable.
