Advice for first bpcr shooter.

Post by David/Mo »

I am interested in getting started in bpcr shooting, I would like some input from this forum on recommendations on caliber. I enjoy competive shooting in the muzzleloading world, so I am sure I would shoot matchs with it. I originally was plannning on a 45-120, but after reading the posts in the long range thread, I'm thinking the 120 maybe a tough one to get to shoot. Plus it sounds like by changing powder granulations you can get the performance out of lesser cases i.e. going to 2f. Whats y'alls thoughts on this, 45/90, 45/110 or what?
Also as far as gun, 74 action, and 34 inch barrel.

Thanks in advance
