Take a look at the Pine Mt Riflemen Match near Bend Oregon.
Here is a link: http://greatbasinsharpshooters.com/rang ... -overview/
They are a friendly bunch, that likes to pot-luck diners and tell tale stories etc. I have enjoyed lots of good times a their weekend matches.

Thank you for correcting my mistake Kenny, Chris Lippman was second and won the Bingo Board Shiloh Sharps at that match.

Re: Canadian looking for a good BPTR match
I haven't done any shooting in Alberta, but I will be there this summer to climb a mountain or maybe two .
Yeah Zack, Hugh and I only managed second place which was a better than I'd hoped for or expected. It was actually a big surprise to be tied for first at the end of the first day. I was pretty shocked as I thought we hadn't really done very well . I noticed that our 88-2x is the BPTRA 1000 yard record too. I've never had a record before. Pretty sweet! A pile of the credit is due to others like Hugh, Shiloh of course for making black powder rifles that shoot better than some bolt guns, and those excellent BACO molds.
I think I'm going to make that rifle a .40-65. I'd originally placed the order as a .45-90 but I'm having other thoughts.
Chris.

I am exploring the possibilities of having Gunlaker and Dead Eye deported to the U.S.
Canada is balking at the idea, apparently they pay too much in taxes for the government to send them south.
If this doesn't work may try refugee status.

DD, do not give up! Just in case you are successful I packed a bag and some guns and ammo. And you are totally correct about how much we all pay in taxes. The last I heard we celebrate 'tax free day' July 13th I think it was. In other words everything you've earned up to July 12th goes to the government, you get to keep the rest of the year. Swell. The Liberals are not even pretending they will balance the budget since the election reduced them to a minority. Now we have four years of 'you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours' and the tax payer takes it in the ear (and I cleaned that up). But wait, if Blomberg wins I figure there could be a lot of guys with guns looking for holes in the border. On second thought could you hold off until November 6th?

You talk about taxes being high you should live in Illinois. I just read the tax increase coming Jan-1. Little utility trailers license tags are going up from $18. to $118. Car tags are going up $100. I heard but I have not seen it written yet, They have a exit tax you have to pay to relocate out of state.......

DeadEye:
Need to move to Alberta:
- no Sales Tax
- lower Provincial taxes
Would be even better if those BC folks would allow us to ship more oil across BC.

Hey Kurt,
Happy New Year and a belated Merry Christmas. I'm OK, I guess when you get to our age bitchin' is just part of life. An EXIT tax, now that makes about as much sense as the RAIN tax they have in Maryland. Still, whenever you post pictures of your place it looks pretty sweet to me. I think I'd stay. Say Hi to Carolyn for us.
I hear you Dave, might not be bad for a retired guy but I wouldn't want to be a working man trying to find a job there. Got to get that oil moving. From my living room I can watch the CN main line and all of Mr. Buffet's oil tank cars rolling East several times a day. I wonder who's stirring up all those protesters? All the best my friend.

Yeah the taxes here are insane. It feels like every penny I have will eventually make it's way to the government. Taxes are my #1 expense by far.
Dave, Alberta would be nice. I'd like to live on the east edge of the Rockies .
Chris.

Chris:
I was born and raised on the East Side of the Rockies. My family has been there since 1798.
Great place to live (Porcupine Hills and through the Gap in the Livingstone Range) - but entry level for immigrants from BC is written support for building a pipeline across BC to sell our oil internationally.

I have no problem with that Dave .
I think most of the pipeline protesters are from Vancouver where they sort of have a left wing frenzy.

Noticed a heavy presence of Leftie Nazi Koo Koo's in Vancover last spring which the tour tried unsuccessfully to play down. Beautiful town anyway.
Must be something about being on the pacific coast, same malady afflicts coastal Washington State, Oregon and Commifornia.
Here's a thought Gunlaker and Dead Eye, once Canada goes completely Communist you can claim refugee status in the U.S. for fleeing Communism.
Just make sure you make the claim at a Port of Entry at the Montana border. Cross at Washington State and they may kick you back as they already have enough trouble fighting with anti-communists.
