jackrabbit wrote:This is rather frustrating that no one seems to be able to get those arsenal patches like Steve used to sell. I liked them very much and prefer them over anything else I have tried. I wonder why no one seems to know who the supplier was? I wonder what has happened to the rest of Steve's inventory??
As noted in my opening post on this thread, BACO has them on order but does not expect a shipment until around mid-June. BACO said the suppliers minimum order requirement was hugh & will require a very large space to store the inventory. I also wondered about the rest of Steve's inventory & called & left a message, but no response.

Art everything you see there came from Walmart. I know some like using a round patch popper but they can be switched to a square tube you can get at Home Lumber. They stock 2" and 3" square as well as rectangle.

I check with all of those plus many more including Crow Shooting Supplies, Pro Shot Products, Optics Planet, Bore Tech, RMC Ox-Yoke, Sportsmans Guide, etc. 2" round cotton flannel patches were available from most of the sources for around $18 to $30 per 1000, but no one had arsenal patches.

If I was not addicted to using Paul Hurd’s (Moezingo’s) Patch Popper, which requires 1-7/8” to 2” round patches, I’d cut up square cotton flannel patches like Kurt.

BTW, as noted by Don, give Paul Hurd’s linen patches a try. Moezingo has them in 1-7/8” & 2-1/2” diameters & are excellent patches. Paul can be reached at 714-719-9090

Rotary fabric cutters are available from many suppliers/sources including Walmart, fabric stores, quilting supply stores, Hobby Lobby, craft shops. You will also need a hard thin cutting board to use with the fabric cutter, which are also available from the same suppliers. The board is especially made to use with the cutters. It will not dull the cutters and fabric will not become imbedded into the board. My wife's into quilting and has several of the cutters in different sizes and 2 or 3 of the cutting boards. BTW, another good source of cleaning patches is the cotton backing material used for quilts. I’ve been cutting it up in different sizes for years to use for general cleaning patches for various caliber firearms.

One of our neighbors has a fabric cutting machine, she can cut cleaning patches in about any shape and size you want. None of the flannel I've seen in the fabric stores around here come anywhere close to having the knap of the ProShot patches.

Nope. I use Dave's ceramic media & cleaning solution for case cleaning but never considered that he may have arsenal patches.

Following is the message I received Friday from Danny Rhoades, Steve's son:
====================

Hi Wayne,

I'm Steve Rhoades' son and saw your post on the Shiloh forum regarding the patches my father was selling. We do have the patches now and plan on offering them once again. We are in the process of setting up a website to make it easy for everyone to order and in the meantime people can contact me directly via my cell phone @602-524-9817, text or email to this email address. I will post something on the forum also to let people know.

Thank you for your patience, it's been a hectic couple months trying to sort through all my dad's stuff!

Please call me if you have any questions.

Respectfully,

Danny Rhoades

Anyone found a consistent source for these?
I may have to start washing my dirty ones if these don't start showing up.
Should have purchased 10,000 rather than 2000 last time.

Put them in a linen sack and wash them, I have been doing that for years, and I like the patch better the second time around, softer and more pliable. Just did several thousand again this summer. Kind of a bitch to sort them out and some will fold in half, but well worth the time.

I just called Buffalo Arms, and they have a "ton" of them on the way. A special discount price if you buy 10 bags, which have 500 in them each. So I just ordered 10 bags. Get your orders in boys.....
