Just did several thousand again this summer. Kind of a bitch to sort them out and some will fold in half, but well worth the time.
Charlie - do you run them through the washer & dryer or something else?

Wayne, I buy my patches from Skyline. Great patches, I use 2 1/4" round and they cost me $18.00. If you buy 6,000 your shipping is free. Great patches. I bet the 2" are cheaper. Best wishes Barry Miller. PS Thanks for the book, great read.

I was at the Medicine Rocks Shoot in Ekalaka, Mt. this past weekend, and we got to discussing the availability of the arsenal patches. I mentioned that I had an order on back order from Buffalo Arms. A fellow shooter showed us what they look like, or at least what they looked like at the time a while back when he purchased them. Definitely not the same patch. Way thiner and different material, he says he has to use 2, instead of a single to make them work. So I called and cancelled my order, and will wait for the originals to become available again.

Charlie,

If they are or become available, where would you purchase the originals from? Even when I was purchasing the arsenal patches from Arizona Sharpshooters (Steve Rhoades) before he passed away there was a change in the thickness to a thinner patch. I was not aware that anyone including BACO was able to get the original patches.

I also ordered from the same source as Steve. The minimum order was 400K. The last ones Steve ordered were the new style which neither of us liked. I gave up on them, as the original material is no longer available. It was a pain in the butt to sell, as they came in a large box and you had to separate them and repackage the lot.
I would suggest you find another material you like and move on. FWIW.......

I still have a bunch of Aresenals, but they are the "new" style. I switched to Pro-Shot 2"
https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Shot-270-38- ... 161&sr=8-2

Bore Tech also sells 2" rounds, but I have not tried them.
https://www.amazon.com/Bore-Tech-Round- ... 161&sr=8-5

shop around and you should find good prices on them in quantities.

I've also been using Pro-Shot 2" patches for some time now & like them but may try the Skyline patches (http://store.skylinecenter.com/Cotton_P ... _p/w90.htm) Barry Miller suggested, which are cheaper, to see if there is a difference.

TexasMac,, I guess I thought from your post about Danny Rhodes and the fact they were going to have patches available again that they would be like the ones I have left. I didnt realize that Steve's last ones were also the thin kind

Patches --- For range use, I have gone to using patches cut from "micro-fiber" household wipers. They don't get soggy like cotton patches and scrub like the dickens. They are much thicker, however, and require a different jag. HOWEVER, while they are kinda a nuisance to cut (I use a paper-cutter), they are very readily washable. Put them In a mesh bag and throw in the laundry. After using these, I would use no other.

I just spoke with Paul Huard about his linen cleaning patches. Paul has been selling linen patches for years. Some of you may know him as Moezingo, the guy that makes the Patch Popper, the Pat. Pending device that dispenses patches out of a spring-loaded tube for wiping at the firing line. He has plenty of 2” ($20/1000) & 2.5” ($25/1000) linen patches. If you’re not familiar with linen, it’s stronger & more absorbent than cotton. For you guys that wash & reuse patches, linen would be the ideal patch material.

BTW, the Patch Popper is available in either single or double-tube versions. I have one of his single tube units, which I’m addicted to using. There’s no way I could make one for the price he sells them. Paul is a member of this forum, so if you’re interested in trying linen patches or ordering one of his Patch Poppers either PM (Moezingo), call (714-520-4395) or email him at moezingo@yahoo.com.

More on cleaning patches.

Barry Miller sent me some samples of Skyline cotton flannel cleaning patches (https://www.skylinecenter.org/skyline-products). They're identical to those sold by Pro-Shot, nice & soft & quickly soak up wiping solutions. Based on current prices they are generally cheaper than Pro-Shot and another excellent option to the current arsenal patches.
