Scope length

For a 30" to 34" barrel rifle what is the ideal scope length?

Chris,
Scope length is what you choose it to be up to a point. I have 4 rifles that have MVA scopes on them. My barrels range from 26" to 34". If you want a dovetail mounted scope than barrel length matters. If you want a 17" spaced scope Than you have many options in length clear to the end of your barrel. MVA 23" scopes use 10.34 spacing unless you get the "A" model which can also be spaced at 7.2" with the "B" model mounts or you could go with a "B" model scope which is the shortest scope MVA makes. A quick look at MVA's website has the lengths listed.

I have a 23" model "A" scope on my long range competition rifle and like it a lot. What mounts are you using?

Are you going to compete with this rifle or is it just a fun gun?

On my comp rifle I installed MVA's MOA adjustment knobs to my silhouette mounts and they really help with fine adjustments.

Is that scope good enough to compete?

Chris,

It's fine just the way it is.

I'm a knob turner with my scopes, and I still haven't needed the MOA knobs.

In my opinion that model is one of the finest made and will serve you well. Enjoy.
