Hey feller, those itty bitty bullets are fun and I don't have to cast and load them unless I want to load some with black powder

I loaded some .40-65 last night but it was drizzling rain when I got up covering everything with ice before it turned to snow. I walked out to the shed and went down on my elbow again. Snow again tomorrow but it let up some now. I still have a few days left to shoot worse :D
Cant waste all my good shots before I get out your way in a couple months, besides I need to be casting not using them up now.

I'm hoping we get enough snow to put an end to my shooting. Even knobsmt's target area looked pretty dry.

And you be careful !! My mom slipped on the ice last winter and broke her hip and shoulder. That's a life altering event !!

I'm done for this month. We got another 6" or so over night on top of that 1/2" ice got before the snow. I don't think the tractor will even push the 6' snowblower without chains. More snow coming Friday with the temp dropping to zero day time and down in the minus teens at night into Feb. Wind is 20 mph +- now so I think I will just watch the Deer that just walked by with the snow up to their knees. Sure is pretty outside :)

Looked like we had a few hrs til the snow was suppose to arrive so I had to give it one more try.
Definitely got the use of the target, I think I got one on about every edge.
Got to change a few things if I'm gonna try self spotting it the wind
My stand was so wobbly I could hardly see my shots.
Took ten shots to get to 3 O'clock just off the edge
So I had to go for score with 10 shells left never having hit the target. but the first one was the almost pinwheel
couldn't see most of the rest of the shots but about half way thru the wind picked up a little more and I shot another off at 3.
Not sure where the other miss went.
Since I couldn't find the records for my load I decided to save the 10th one and dissect it.
So the score is for 9 shots
Guess 7 of 9 in that wind wouldn't have been too bad for a gong shoot but not for the postal
2 3/4
12 1/2
17 1/2
17 7/8
23 1/2
25
25
25
25
25
Score 199.125

Browning with 34" SS 45 2 7/8 16 twist barrel
Not sure of the load but I think 105 gr swiss 1 1/2

After digging the powder out and comparing it, it looked like 100 gr KIK 1.5

Thanks.
I got a whole case I need to use up, so maybe I'll try it again under better conditions.

Nice to see the snow shots for a change.
Its too hot to shoot down under. Most of the interior is over 100 F in your money and someone down S.A. recorded 120F
Bushfires are our big danger now and power outages due to the demand with aircons etc.

I'm sure that range area looks familiar... but I've never seen that white stuff on it before  As for the octagon... I'm pretty sure I've shot all around it too  That snow does look nice though. As Perentie said... we are at the opposite side of the weather cycle now. Too hot to go outside basically. January shoot cancelled and quite likely February at this rate. Fingers crossed for March. You guys keep it going and provide some entertainment o.k.

I should have taken a picture last winter. Snow was so deep there wasn't much sagebrush showing.
Those black targets really showed up then.

45-70 PP load, 82gr. 1.5 Swiss, CPA rifle, 200 yds. shooting off sticks. Had it going on then I stopped to let a wind gust blow through, got back on the rifle and the last 3 shots went out to the right. Oh well. Changed my hold, broke my concentration , I don't know.

Nice Shooting. Was wondering if anyone was gonna take a run at the lead before the end of the month. 3 days left to go.

I'd sure like to post one more but it's been mostly below zero and we have the most bitter wind I've ever felt in my life working out there the last few days. I don't think a man could survive walking out 200 yards to put up a target and then walk back. Wind chills have been -40 to -50. A man has got to know his limitations!

It's supposed to warm up nicely for the weekend, just in time to be too late! Figures! Then we can start on next month, woo-hoo!

You need to put in one of those clothes line gizmos like I see at those fancy shooting ranges on TV.
