ff, I forgot to ask, what .45,s do you shoot, 45-70, 90, 100 etc? The bullets that I have on order are .440" from Sagebrush - 535 grain I think.
Thanks

With this mold, I use it in my 45-70 3-band military, a LRE 45-2.6 and a Remington #1 creedmoor in 45-2.6 with a 1:17 twist barrel. I dry wrap with #9 onion skin paper that comes out to .4495" for a friction-fit in all 3 rifles. all I've done as far as competition is a few local silhouette matches but so far I'm happy with how it shoots. I've tweaked this load since I've first started and so far I like using two wads, a .060" fiber then a .060" ldpe. I currently cast at 20:1 but started with 30:1 when I was still a gg shooter. The "medford" nose is more vulnerable to slump then say a creedmoor so harder alloy seems to help quite a bit. I cut my patches so the excess can be folded over the base but not meet in the middle and I only slip fit the bullet into the case about .080"-.100" at most, any more and I had paper rings and fliers. Shiloh's 45-90 chamber is very exact with minimal throat and lends themselves well to paper patching.
