Fort Chadbourne Range closed

Post by Steve crawford »

May 19,2019 was the last meet at Fort Chadbourne range. It is now closed. They will build a solar power farm in its place. Wish I had made better use when it was available. :( :( :(

Sad to hear of a range closure. I only shot there a couple of times. Graham, Texas and Mexia, Texas are both viable options for that area.

Yes, we had 25 years to enjoy this wonderful range. I would like to think all that helped support and attended the matches over the years.
Garland and Lana were very gracious in letting us use the ranch for this many years. We wish them the best in there new endeavors.
We had a clean up day yesterday to gather up targets and other things, it was hard to see it all end.
Most of use will start attending the matches at Graham whenever we can.

I served as match director for more than 20 of these years and I can say that I have met some of the most wonderful people ever at Ft. Chadbourne. It was aways very relaxed and layed back at our matches and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.

Thanks ,
Garry
