As far as I can discern, Sharps chambered their rifles to shoot bore diameter bullets, either PP or GG, with two exceptions. The .50-70 Gov. and .45-70 Gov. rifles were chambered to shoot the groove diameter bullets that the military used. There is nothing new about the chamber that Shiloh is cutting with a 7 Deg. lead to accommodate paper patch bullets. From what I've seen it is very similar to the original .45-70 chambers. The .45-70 was a very popular caliber. If the chamber didn't work well, why was it so popular? Trigger1212, if you are concerned, ask Kirk. If there is a problem, he will be changing barrels out.
