Oh Heck - - - if it is for a 45-70, just keep it simple. The Lyman 457193 is really hard to beat. Weights around 420 grains. I've shot everything from gophers to buffalo with it in my 45-70 Sharps.

45-100.... tried some GG bullets but, in 5 rounds....all leaded. Did try a Speer 400gr flat nose and that worked great!! 89gr 1.5 swiss. So I do have a back up if I cant find anything that works well.

I used a KAL .45 TGBS adjustable nose pour in my .45-100 on deer with excellent results. Cast 511 gr over 81 grs of Kik 3F with a DGL lube cookie in between 2 Walter's Wads, was very accurate out to 200 yards, recoil was mild and fired 10 shots without wiping before the accuracy deteriorated. I haven't shot an Elk or Buffalo with it but I am pretty sure the load is capable but if you don't think so there is always room for more powder and bullet weight with the KAL mold.
Real gun powder is black.
