best shooting forum period

Post by bpcr shooter »

Like most people in this sport we are either "lurkers" or members to other forums, and as such there is usually someone at some point....we will just say VERY rude. Now, I haven't been on this forum very long but, long enough to read a lot of it and I cant remember ever seeing this rudeness....EVER!!
I believe if everyone was to start shooting BP we would all get along!!! :D Guess my real reason for writing this was to say thanks!! being a younger fella Im not doing the "in" thing by shooting BPCR, but I love it and I believe I always will!! I just hope I am around long enough for another young shooter to feel the same and express his/her gratitude. So.........THANK YOU TO YOU ALL

Very true. It is like motorcycles, if everyone was required to drive a motorcycle for a year before they could drive a car they would be a lot nicer and more careful

Big 10-4 on that. Back when! I was riding the Ducati 750 and or the Harley I came so close a number of times most left turners.

So true. I have been driving an automobile since I was 13 years old. I had never been on a motorcycle when, at age 63, I decided I would like to try it. Family thought I was nuts. Went to motorcycle school, got my license and purchased a 1997(first year) Valkyrie, a real rocket. Have now been riding the bike for 10 years. No exaggeration, my automobile driving skills have gone up by light years. It seems that riding a motorcycle enhances one's survival skills to the point that operating a car is a piece of cake.

Being on a motorcycle did indeed enhance my skills. It included stick to an iron cage with 4 wheels. Hit anything while on 2 wheels....you lose.

:D I had my time on two wheels including a 4 wheeled 29 Ford and a couple others later on :D
It started with a bike, Cushman, 48 Indian Chief, 52 Arial square 4 down sized to a 650 BSA and the last was a Norton 750 Atlas scrambler before I got smart after putting them down several times on wet pavement when cars pulled out in front of me.
Orville I was in the air in a J-3 and a T craft at age 16 it's a to safer up there then on two wheels :D

Rode in enough bush planes when I lived in Alaska to instill a fear of flying in me forever. Rode once in a helicopter and that made my fear worse. I don't ride my bike after dark or when even the tiniest bit wet. Biggest thing round here is watching out for deer. They are all over the place. And yes, riding a motorcycle scares the hell out of me.

Why do you keep reading the posts, when they don't meet your standards? :?

bpcr shooter - glad you like the forum - I do too - learned a lot here. Now stop lurking and get up to Byers or one of the other long range matches and let us see your smiling face shooting over cross sticks in the dirt!

BPCR I don’t know how old you are but I hope you stick with it. We need young people to keep this going. Whenever I bring one of my BPCR rifles out it always gets attention. My way of keeping the traditions of the old guns alive!

well I think Im young anyway....39. Been shooting BP since I was 8. First was a Berdan 45 cal rifle, then 50 cal.. Got a 12ga an was state jr champ for 4yrs (til they kicked me out....two yrs early) then took 3rd in novice skeet, second in novice sporting clays and 2nd in novice trap. Your right chris you dont see many younger people shooting these rifles, but when It comes out they sure do wanna look and shoot it just once!!!  . I want to do more shoots problem is I have to work and only get so much time off, between the 2 at Lodi, quigley and a little hunting im about tapped out for vacation. I just cant make the big ones like Raton.....Its just too far and its a shame because, I would make darn sure I was there if it were closer. Ive been thinking of Frendship for a couple yrs, as I do like silhouette shooting, and I do targets.... anywho I try and talk as many people into this sport as I can even if its just come watch!!!
