Who's using the "Texas Bore Pigs" and what do you think of them?
Worth the money?

I used them for many years, but then switched to making my own, somewhat modified versions. Yes, they are worth the money.

The used to come with an option for Nylon bristles or bronze brushes. Choose the nylon they last longer.

Re: Texas Bore Pigs
I've used these & wanted to get a new set but, it seems as the supplier is either "out of business" or has a new email. The one on the web site does not seem to work. Anybody know if Rick is still in business??? Thanks

Re: Texas Bore Pigs
If you have a small lathe they are pretty easy to make. Here is some I made and used a bit before Midrange dried up in AK.
The brass plugs are .435 diameter and the o-ring diameter is .460-.462. A bit over groove diameter in most .45 caiiber guns.
Seemed to work pretty good with stiff Nylon brushes and synthetic sponge material used as a mop.

You don't need a lathe to make the very best bore critters you can have. In fact, you don't need any tools at all, though a drill bit is a lot of help and small bottle of blue Loctite is a good thing.

Thanks, great idea and looks like a better mouse trap with two swabs and square edged neoprene washers to better hook crud. Is there any need for a wipe patch to follow or do these leave the chamber clear of moisture?
