I'd try to keep the distance under 10' so you don't run out of windage......

Move to Wyoming and then you only need to figure the adjustment for 100 mph winds, plus no rain or tide surges.

Kenny this one sounds dangerous. It is already a Cat 4 and still has three days to make landfall. My brother-in-law lives in St. Augustine and is justifiably concerned. You all take care

You know, there comes a time when you just need to put your rifle away and hunker down. This looks like one of those times! Stay safe!

Put my sharps away Jim? NEVER> you'll have to pry it from my
Wet, drowned, windblown, storm surged, Florida hands....

storm is passing us by here in Venice I think. computer models show it moving to the east, and if you look at the satellite photo closely, you can see dozens of faces in NC and Georgia looking skyward and swearing!

I had the windage problem solved though. I had a four foot broom handle , and duc tape,

remove the top of the tang sight, tape the broom handle sideways, re tape the sight at the end of the broom and you have a 4 foot adjustable sight.

OK> I'll go take a nap now....

be safe all...Ken

You will need around 168 minutes of windage for a full value 140 mph wind

Stay safe!
