New Bullet
Has anybody shot a 490 grain money bullet out of A 1:18”inch twist barrel? If so how did it shoot

405gr. round nose standard Gu'mint bullet shoots just fine out of my 22" twist Trapdoor out to about 300 steps. Can't say beyond that into MidRange, or how a different nose design might perform.

yes assuming 45 cal, if it won't shoot the fault will lie somewhere other than length.

So Chris, is the goal to have a ballistically superior chicken bullet? Certainly the felt recoil will be less because of the decrease in bullet weight. It may even work well on the pigs. I suspect for a 45 bullet you will want to be in at least the 500-520 grain range both to knock down targets and to have some ability in marginal (windy) conditions for turkeys and rams. YMMV.

If you want to use it across the range, chickens to rams, I am thinking it should weigh closer to 490-500 grains for a 45 cal bullet. Kind of an improved Snover bullet.
