Re: New Bullet
I would say the 490gr. Money bullet would be longer.
Normal isn't coming back, but Jesus is.

Re: New Bullet
If the sole purpose is shooting at chickens it doesn't matter what you shoot.
Those that intend to hit a few chickens will likely have a different perspective.
If your load won't hold minute of chicken at 200 meters you may be volunteering for the first group above and may as well save the powder
and primers because shooting to hit chickens requires practice and an accurate load.

Sometimes you get the chicken, and sometimes you get the feathers!

Re: New Bullet
without checking, I would tend to agree with you.
and it might also have a higher b.c.
chris makes a good point in his post about the shorter bullet in his 2.4"
he has tried at 200, a distance where precession and nutation have probably settled down into a yaw of repose, so the result is meaningful.
the slightly shorter bullet will have a slightly greater yaw of repose than the longer one, due to greater gyroscopic stability.
due to this it will tend to be a little more nose high in flight than the longer bullet, but to such a small degree that it will have no effect.
we come back here to the gould bullet shot in 45 cal express loadings accurately.
it is way shorter than a 490 gn money bullet.
too short in fact to have a b.c in any way suitable to long range shooting in the wind.

it also requires the patience of a saint and the pride of a married man to learn to do well.desert deuce wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 8:16 pm If the sole purpose is shooting at chickens it doesn't matter what you shoot.

Re: New Bullet
well zack, I do have the patience of a saint as many recognise.
and I have been married so long I do not have 1 iota of pride left.
try as I might, I have yet to be a good chicken shooter.
read from this what you will.

Sometimes you get the chicken, and sometimes you get the feathers!
