Try shooting a PM Private Message to Glenn Davis aka SSShooter. He has made a real nice one that works well.

It will be a while before I make another run of the cartridge seaters.
The ones pictured above look good, but they appear to be for an 1885. You will need to confirm they will work with any other rifle like an 1874. Also, you will need to confirm that they can be bent to the left or right to work with a scope if you have one mounted.

If you click the pull down menu, it gives you the option for a 1885 high wall or 74 sharps.

Re: Cartridge seater for sharps
My 38-50 liked hard into the lands with the grease groove bullet set out. It gave excellent accuracy, as in Perfect scores at 200 and 300 yards with the Lyman Postell in midrange This required a Rhoades bent cartridge seater to clear my scope.
2015 out of 30 record shots day 1 midrange Prone Nationals, I shot 11-xs. And won the Scope National title, the 38 just gave up to many points.
In 2018 I repeated that Championship win, but have seen the light, used A PP load. In 2019 I used my 40-70 for every midrange match I shot in, often against 3-4 National Champions. I still use it. I usually was 2nd or 3rd.
And that’s why I use one with my GG loads. Hard into the lands will show you some interesting things on a chronograph. I believe it gives a constant start pressure, which gives constant muzzle velocities. you look at the match results, I was often the high score at 500 yards, a considerably difficult target and often second or tied at 600 for first.
My 40-70 seldom takes a back seat to my 45-110 in midrange matches, plus less powder and lead. But I use a reduced front bands for more powder in the 40-70 case.
Now if I could relearn the fast pace of Silhouette and get back too decent AAA scores.

Re: Cartridge seater for sharps
Art, sorry your post came in while in while I was typing my response.
Breach seating is using a tool first to seat the bullet into the barrel with a empty case. True breach seating that is.
Seating a bullet into the lands with fixed ammunition is a different thing the cowboy tool should do that fine, if your rifle is scoped that requires it bent to clear your scope tube. Hope that helps,
Kenny W.
