Made it Back to the range today. I putted old E against Swiss. I shot the Swiss load early in the morning before the conditions started. This old E load was shot while there as a cross wind. The 2 to the left of the main group. The low one in the old E group is a flier. Don’t know where it came from but it was much faster than the rest of them. The Swiss loads were in the 13teen range while the OE was in the 1270s. Kind of surprising but that’s what it was. If I had shot the OE load first thing then I think it would have been right around an moa. Well under an moa without that flier. The target that’s not marked is 82 grains of Swiss 1.5 I included 2 pictures of OE just to show the lack of vertical spreading I have no doubt that the horizontal spread in the OE was a result of the conditions. Those who may have been following the OE vs Swiss thread I am going to order a case of OE and give it a try for the season. 2.5 " is what I'm coming up with !!

I keep hearing good things about the Old E. Just haven't the nerve to try it yet, but your results are encouraging. I've several pounds.

I am satisfied enough to try case. I am going to call my powder guy to see if he has a case of it. If he does I am going to make the drive and get it. I am hoping to shoot some turkeys Wednesday. If I am able to I’ll let you know how it goes

Still would be helpful to know which lots are good and which lots are not so good.

Good shooting, Ian!

I got out yesterday, but I wasn't guessing the wind changes well enough to get below 3 inches.
I guess I'm done for the year....
Looking forward to next year!

Probably all long gone, and not a great test, but about 6 years ago I got a case of OE 1½ lot # E1-02/13MY06B
With 62 gr and zero compression, I got a 3 shot group at 1"with the Steve Brooks "Who Nose" GG bullet
so I loaded a bunch up and shot a 27/30 at the local buffalo Match.
Never shot it again. Maybe I should and see if I can wean my daughter off that white stuff !!

Raining today, and supposed to be very windy for the next couple. I got out yesterday and shot a four rung ladder in my 45-70 Cody H/W. The first two rungs shot were both sub MOA at just a tad under 2 inches. I'm heading to the garage to reload both of these as ten shot tests, but It looks like New Years Day before the weather will allow a range session.

Let's see Woody, that load you are going to test again.
What was the load data for it again?
You know, powder charge, primer, wad, case, inquiring minds want to know.

All in due time Zack. I'll spill the beans when it proves itself with a ten shot repeat. As we all know five shots don't mean a thang.
