Can i assume with the small scoring dot you were using scope or were you using the whole target

Yes I used a scope, 4X. The dot is actually just for reference, my aiming black is set up to the right of the paper that the bullets impact. I do it that way so I can easily see the bullet holes as the group is shot and it saves on targets. The paper is just old paper from work and is free. I just dial in the left wind and shoot!

I could only get three picture in the first post and I did the second one to include the two other pictures. Sorry!

I think I'm moving further down the list again. I've got the rounds loaded, just waiting for the next break in the weather. Good shooting today.

This auto correct just don't work any better in German as it does in English :D
I don't know how they get pushing from shooting

It could probably tell from the picture he spends way more time pushing snow than shooting guns

First - beautiful rifles! Thanks for the pictures!
After I saw your scores with the smokeless military rifles - I just had to get mine out of the back of the safe. But I shot worse groups - 12" or so; no point in even posting them. Both rifles with the original peep sights and I used Lake City Match ammo. I did better with my 45-70 Shiloh 22" barrel carbine with barrel sights. I shot my Shiloh 3 band 44-77 mil rifle with blade and ladder barrel sights and almost halved the mil rifles' groups. I was surprised at those results. I haven't shot smokeless rifles for a long time (except .22 BPCR) and I thought they would do much better than the BP mil rifles. These postal matches turn up some interesting stuff...

Thanks to everybody for your kind comments and patience with my ramblings. This postal match is a fun way to encourage shooting in the winter (and other times also).

Yesterday I took my Win. 52 to the range to try out the new-to-me Lyman 25x STS. The wind was off and on and here and there. Nothing steady or predictable. The afternoon yielded no groups I would want to report; and I don't have to, because the rifle is disqualified anyway! As I have mentioned here, I prefer to shoot iron sights. Yesterday's shoot reminded me of that preference. I had my High Wall Musket with me but didn't take it out of its sleeve. Not enough time and no use wasting the ammo on those conditions. I do hope to have another nice day with the Musket so I can post more, hopefully better, targets.

Jim, I like the looks of your shooting shack, but you can keep that white stuff up there in Wisconsin! My shooting shack is not much to look at, but it sure is comfortable. I have a 12x20 pole shed set on the side of a mountain. We now have it enclosed with old cast-off storm windows. There's a big shooting bench, a sitting area, and a wood stove. It's one of my favorite places on earth.

It's been a work in progress for more than 20 years.

We even put in a ceiling to hold the heat.

The way it is set up now, we can comfortably do on-site load development with two loading stations. Shoot 'em as soon as you load 'em! And yes, we do get some of that white stuff too.

It's been a great place for teaching the younger generation.

That boy is now a grown man. Those photos were 15 years ago!

So there's a tour of my shooting shack on a morning when there's not much else to talk about. My wife says I talk too much. I hope I'm not boring you guys.

Whereabouts is this place? I'm sitting in the snow right now waiting on a squirrel. If you are close, I might drop by to warm up. :)
