I am very sad to report that Russ Weber, Gunsmith and fellow Schuetzen Shooter has passed yesterday at his home.
Rest in Peace, Russ!

Sad to hear. Only met him once and I use his breech seater. We are diminished.

That is sad news.

Never met him personally but loved his tools.

We are Deminished.

It's sad to hear Russ has gone to the other side but he is not gone as long as he is remembered.
I have two of his tools and when I asked him to make a special change for the side lever Sharps he was more than willing to full fill my request.
A very pleasant man to talk to.

Russ was an extraordinary gentleman and I enjoyed many conversations and Schuetzen competitions with him over the years.
He was almost stone deaf from working on the deck of an aircraft carrier but he could read your lips unless you had a beard.
His breech seaters were a fine example of his workmanship.
I will truly miss his friendship.
He was a pleasure to know.

Example of Russ's great workmanship.
A breech seater that would fit over the hammer and could be used for the .32-40, .40-65 WCF or .40-60 Maynard barrels I had for my CPA.
Just spun off the attached case and inserted new case when I changed barrels on the rifle.

Here are the two he made for me. The one on the right I had him modify so I could swing it to the left, away from the Sharps hammer and miss the scope.
I have been thinking about calling him again to make one that fits the CPA breach but I guess I will have to make my own now or modify one of these.
