This month is starting to look like it doesn't have enough days. After a quick round trip to Colorado and dropping off three rifle totes to support the Western shooters, I returned to several orders to fill prior to heading to Friendship. Today more orders. Come on, I need a day or two off sometime.

Couldn't let a nice afternoon go to waste so i snuck out after lunch and shot a few.

wanted to up the load on my 42-85 and also check the stretching on my cases with the thick wad.

Miroku 42-85
38 gr BH-209
3 7/8. exactly the same as the last target with 37 gr.
Last shot kinda screwed up my nice vertical.
Already too big a pattern so I didn't bother going for 10

Also tried Nevermore but the bullets were too long and powder column too short !!!!

Wow! she sure earned her Master level spotting on the first attempt! Nice work! Woody, the pressure is really on your chicken shooting with her spotting like that!

Pretty windy, but I think that's all we'll get from now on so took a couple loads out to test.

My first try with the 50-90 was a total disaster.
Found out Jumping paper patched bullets to the rifling does not work !!!!

Didn't realize how far out I would have to seat a patched to Groove bullet in this chamber. So I did a quick and dirty chamber cast.

wound up with 123 gr Goex 1F compressed 0.17
Only loaded 3 to make sure they stayed on paper.
1" vertical but I really got to figure out where all my horizontal is coming from on all my loads . ( probably me !!)

then I had a few 40-65 rounds loaded that I need to test.
Figured out the only way to get good groups Paperpatching with BH-209 is to wipe just like black which defeats the whole purpose.
Maybe it will be different in the heat of the summer. Didn't have a problem a couple years ago when it was hot.
3 5/8 group with 1 3/4 vertical

Beautiful here today. Spent the weekend in the shop. Today, I think I'll take a nap and then start reloading for the coming apocalypse.
