Semtav,
Thanks for the updated scorecard list. I do appreciate your running this.
Has a therapeutic effect on me to pull trigger a bit and "converse" about the
results- Fun, always learning.
One thing, my rifle is a 38-50 Rem Hep,
Not a 38-55

had to try my 40-65 again to see what it would do.

Wind was directly in my face at about 10 mph for the first 4 shots and switched to a right wind for the last shot.

except for the 5th shot the pattern was identical to yesterday. In fact when I laid the targets over each other, I could see thru the first shot and the 3-4 shot.

All this was done from a cold barrel start. going to try again with a left or right wind and see what happens.

What's that white stuff? I have to wear ear plugs, cause the grass is growin so fast. Our range is effectively closed. My state, (Indiana), is on lockdown at present. I will say our Governor did exempt gun shops from his closure order. He is a 2nd Amendment guy. I did order some reloading components on-line this morning. I've got a two years supply of .223 reloaded. I can load .45 ACP tomorrow and be set for this year. Still need some .38 spl bullets, (on order) to get set for that caliber this year, and have some more Eley coming. I quit casting these and just buy the components now. Did stock up on fuel, so I can mow the green stuff for the next month or so. The mower is ready, so I quess I'll hit the shop tomorrow and start working on a few pending wood projects. If the ground drains, I can get some 100 yard work in at the house. Too wet and soft at present. This lockdown just started and I'm tired of setting on the limb like a buzzard.

I wish I has some wide open flat ground like that to shoot over. :D

Woody since I don't have the AA hulls laying around can you use .38 Special once fired brass instead?

Guess we are lucky, kinda hard to shut a pasture down !!

Stopped by the grocery store this more and they had toilet paper stacked to the ceiling down several isles !!

Had to laugh. bet everyone is hoarded up and it takes forever to get rid of it.

Cleaned gun and shot again. except for one flyer that I'm pretty sure ws a loading error, the third load pretty much mirroed the first two.

gonna load up 13 and see if it settles in after a couple.

Kurt,

I'm good with .38 spl. Thanks for the offer. The only reason I'm loading it now is I've switched my carry gun to a J frame S&W airweight. I heck of a lot less bulk than my 1911 Officers model I've carried for years. I'll have to qualify with it soon and using a speed loader is new to me. Accuracy is not an issue. I really am liking it but in order to carry under LEOSA, I must qualify once a year with it.

I have a 5 gallon bucket full of .38 Sp and one with .40's All once fired form the prison and law enforcement that shoot on our range.

I like my Judge. First a .410 shot followed by 4 .45 colts :)

I love the idea of a Spring Scorecard Pandemic Match but an idea is all it's going to be for a while in Colorado. The Gov just shut everything but critical stuff down and told every one to stay at home "that's the law." Ranges are closed to everyone now. I don't think he'll buy 'recoil therapy' or inhaling sulfur and charcoal smoke as a treatment for Chinese Flu. Pellet guns in the basement anyone?

Being on lock down and raining but zero wind. I thought it was a good time to take the .44-77 Shiloh Farmer out with it's new 10X MVA A scope and get familiar with the scope.
I shot in my yard again at 136 yards off the bench and I sandbagged it. Shot 10 rounds getting a zero and the feel of the new scope. At this range the Silhouette mount is on zero, all the way down.
I saved the last 5 rounds and put up a new target and shot the last 5 rounds. Walking down range to get the target I saw only 4 holes and I know that I shot 5 rounds. Back on the bench I measured the holes and the center is slightly larger than the rest but I have to call it as 4 hits because it's so close that I'm not sure.

I found some patch remnants and the look like they should look. so all is fine with this rifle.
This rifle has been trying to tell me use me, use me, leave that little .40 girly gun home  maybe I should listen. :)
My other .44-77 hartford hunting rifle has done just as good using the barrel sights.

The load was:
79 gr 1.5 OE
511 gr 1.457" long .433 unpatched.
1 .023" milk carton wad over the powder, 1/8" my OZ lube and a .023 under the bullet.
Fed LR match primer.
Now it's time to find at least a 500 yard range to confirm if the rifle will shoot.

That looks darn good Kurt.
Cant imagine you would have that bad of a flyer !!
Might put it on the 100 yd board anyway.

Just come out and bring a chain. Soon as I get all the sagebrush pulled you can shoot 100 to 1000 plus !!!

With weather moving in, I had to try once more to get rid of all the vertical my 40-65 is giving me.
Dropped it down 2 gr to 60 gr OE 1.5 to see if it changed.
No such luck
