The hoarding started when someone started the rumor the toilet paper was produced by the Chinese.
That is not where Americans obtain TP which is not produced locally.

Canadian pulp mills are happy to produce more TP for you guys - or are you going to charge a tariff for increasing our exports to the U.S.?
But then our Canadian shelves are bare too - so we will probably keep it.

Good one Dave, course the Canadians have been hosing the US Dairy farmers for years with huge tariffs but I guess it's OK for the Canucks to do it! :D

Yeah, I remember well the 100's of trucks going buy loaded with fat cattle, until guess what a Canadian cow with BSE dumped our livestock market in the gutter for years. U can keep your toilet paper.

Charlie,

I had a friend at that time who was feeding 18,000 head in Brooks AB when the border slammed shut. Among other things he lost his voice as the acid reflux burned his vocal chords that badly from the worry. He was on the executive of the Cattleman's association and he told me that based on information from the breeding history, the rancher in question emigrated from Montana three years earlier with 30 head, that was one of them. He waited until it was so sick that he had load put it in the trailer with a loader. Everybody lost on that deal including me, I was in the BBQ business at the time.

Paul, I could rattle on all night about it, but it's over and done with and we have worse things to worry about now. Nothing would be gained by a friendly discussion at this point.

Stay safe my friend,
Charlie
