Re: Confused on scope mount?
For what it's worth, my 7000 series MVA scope the lens is right at the end of the scope. There are no threads for a lens cover.
The sunshade would have to clamp on somehow.

Re: Confused on scope mount?
Marshall made 3 shades for me after I sent him a scope cap for the thread dimensions off a J.W. Fecker 20.5" long scope with 0.905" OD objective. So he should have the dimensions, but likely not for larger Fecker objective housings.

Re: Confused on scope mount?
If I remember correctly ,when I got my MVA 23 inch scope with Silhouette bases the instructions indicated they could be installed on at 7 something or 11 something inch spacing. The shorter was recommended for longer distances but the movement was more course per dial hash .

Re: Confused on scope mount?
I once had to re- align four bases on the same barrel with holes that had been done by hand and were not square/perpendicular to anything in particular.
One set was for scope bases and the other two for tube sights. Not wanting to drill any more than the eight holes already present I wound up making new oversize blocks, using the original crooked tapped holes to secure and milling all three sides of each base out in line. Man what a can of worms that was, Hope he never takes them off or mixes them up if he does.

Check in with Joe Hill of this forum. He lives in the area and should know one. There is one in Milan, but I don't have his contact info.

It took me a while to find the adapter I made for one of my rifles. This is an option you can use to switch from a 9000 scope to a globe sight.
Switching between the scope and globe sight you pretty much will have a repeatable setting were just a sighter shot or two will get you right back on center.

You can order the dove tail block and clamp the globe back on. No I won't make one for you but MVA might.

Re: Confused on scope mount?
After talking to Cheryl at MVA I am going to go with the A scope 10X With Silhouette mounts and screw on blocks. It should do what I want.

Re: Confused on scope mount?
Kurt, a tip that would probably allow your adapter to be more accuracy repeatable is to make one full width dovetail body(top and bottom) and a cap. The reason is it reduces the moveable, draw up contacts points by half and is more rigid.

Re: Confused on scope mount?
Mike that was just a spur of the moment thought. It's not perfect but it works. It's in a drawer now and but I been thinking making a better one with a closer fit and a little lower profile. I just knocked the front sight off one rifle so I don't see as much barrel shadow so sooner then later I will make another one or mill a dovetail in opposite direction of a front globe to eliminate this type of adapter. It will be more repeatable that way.
