Montana Vintage Arms

Post by Jimhp02 »

I have gotten some very good advice here regarding scopes and mounts, vernier tangs, etc., but would like to see what the folks at MVA recommend. I cannot find the days they are open and their hours of operation. Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Oh well, I just called MVA and the robot operator asked for an extension. I do not know any extension to dial and the robot operator does not give an option if you do not know the extension. Lol

Jim, You are new to this game and some things don't run 'like a computer.' Calling at 8:06 on a Monday morning in the middle of a pandemic might be holding them to a little too tight of a schedule. Cheryl has a long drive and depending on the weather might have been delayed 5 minutes. Relax my friend, take a deep breath and slow down to 1874 speed. Cheryl by the way is a NRA 'AAA' Silhouette shooter and can help you so do not make the mistake of asking for the 'boss'.

Thanks Paul. You are absolutely correct. I was able to contact Cheryl and put in my order. My apologies.
Sitting here in my empty office as we are now closed on Monday and hoping not to have to make the decision to close further.

These are trying times Jim. I'm 77 and I have never experienced anything like it. We're all seeing a new side of ourselves as worry, panic, fear raise their ugly heads. Glad she made your day.

Stay well, Paul

Paul, as always your remarks on this forum are right on! Respectful, accurate with a bit of humor. I hope we get together at an event this summer. My regards to Spot and Cody. Jeff from P’wood.

1968, married 3 months, off to Vietnam for a year. NO phone, NO computer, NO net.
came back alive then started life with my 'new' wife.
Yeah. I've experienced 'something like this'...
didn't fall apart then, won't fall apart now.
off to kiss my wife in the other room..still with me...now THAT is tough to do...

Thank you Zack, I think ? As always you are very perceptive, particularly so in this case as it's been about six years since we've seen one another. But then I'm sure you haven't changed a bit either.

Thank you for your service Kenny, 1968 was a long time ago. You were heading off to Nam and we were celebrating the birth of our son John. He was #3 and then we figured out what was causing it.

To my friend Jeff, thank you. You can bet if they open that border we will be the first in line. I trust you and Connie are well through all of this.

On November 28th we had to say goodbye to Kodi. There was just nothing more we could do for him. He is missed. Time for something different after three Golden Retrievers and a Rough Collie. Our vacuum cleaner was begging for some time off so we thought we would try a Goldendoodle. This is Montelius (Monte). He's eight months old now and weighs 55 lb. I think we/he will keep the Hill well entertained if we can get together.

Sorry about Kodi. I look forward to meeting Monte. I too have vast experience with dogs and vacuum cleaners!

Love dogs!

1968 I was graduating high school. Martin Luther King assassinated, Bobby Kennedy assassinated , Watts riots, turmoil and violence at the Democratic National Convention. A very tough year. We made it through that and more and we will make I through this.

Thank you again Paul. It is the rare individual who can correct a person’s poor behavior and do it in a manner as if it is coming from a close friend.
