Thinking of getting a scope for my 45/70 . My question
What is the preferred power ( 3,4,5x ) for silhouette competition?
Thank you for any help....jim

Re: Scope help
5X (which is what I use) would be the minimum. I tried 10X, but too much for me on chickens due to smaller field-of-view. Much happier with 5X. It is a personal thing. Once we are back shooting come to Shippensburg and look thru a few and see what you think.

Check out the MVA web site and check out all the scopes available.

Re: Scope help
I shot my new MVA A scope today in heavy overcast with rain starting and the 10X really amplifies my floaters. It's fine in a bright day but overcast it gets to be a problem with my floaters.
The little B-5 is a lot brighter as well as the 3000 6X

Are the mounts for the B-5 dovetailed or drill and tap to the barrel ?
