Re: wad material
Been using John Walters wads for 25 years! The best, my 2 cents worth.

Re: wad material
Yeah, I get mine as diesel engine, head gasket material at AK rubber here in town. I usually get the .062 thick but it can be had in .032 I believe. I made up a couple of the Fred Lieth style wad cutters that thread into a loading press , cut out a hole in the center of an old pie tin that fits under the wad cutter lock ring on top of the press and pop them out by the hundreds. The tin catches them as they come out the die top. It's actually satisfying to make ones own wads, kind of like pinching bubble wrap!
I've been kicking around a similar idea for making gas checks but haven't done so yet.

Re: wad material
NAPA Gasket material in bulk in .060 or ,030 inch, or what I most often use, LDPE from McMaster Carr. A press mounted homemade wad punch. I have not bought a store bought wad in 15 plus years. Not dissing on John Walters. He is a great supporter of this game and supplies some of the best lead, tin, alloy, and wads available at very reasonable prices. Support him if you chose not to make your own.
