Stock fit and trigger pull changes with advancing age

Post by mdeland »

Is it just me or have others of you noticed the need for stock fit and trigger pull change as you get older? Being a short man I have always like 13 5/8s inches of pull but in the last decade or so I have gravitated to feeling more comfortable with 13 1/8 - 13 1/4 inch pull.
I was quite comfortable with and had good control of a trigger in the 12oz range as is on my best BPCR match rifle but now prefer a trigger pull in the 2- 3 lbs range if it breaks clean. My old beat up glass cut fingers have so much scar tissue I can't even feel the light trigger any more let alone release it consistently.
I can still see the aperture sights pretty well but not as sharp as they were just a few years ago which also can be effected by stock fit as well as aperture hole size adjustment.
