glen,
work out what sized bullet will slide into a fired case.
the bullet you fire will be approx 0.001" bigger than that due to spring in the brass and bumping up before it starts to move.

Glen for grease groove bullets, 408-409 depending upon the bullet. This is for a custom Winchester Hiwall with a tight neck chamber. Above 409 bullets, cartridges will not chamber easily. .408 is what I shoot for.
Re: 40-65 Bullet diameter
I have heard from my shooting partner that his Browning 40-65 likes the 410 best.

Thanks Everyone.
Michael
One high wall Jeanne has eats 410, and a little bigger sometimes, without any problems.
Her New high wall is going to be finicky I think. Some rounds are snug and some say no go. I think the chamber is just a hair tighter and I think a sizer at 408 or 409 will be needed.
Jeanne's rifles always seem to be the finicky ones that require a lot of load development.
