My Lyman 20-pounder died on me.

In 2013 I bought a Magma Engineering Master Pot. I had them omit the bottom pour feature. It holds 40-pounds. The cost was $300 back then.

Same fo me, this pot has worked great!

An after market PID is used with the pot.

The 40-pound capacity is good for large single cavity molds. The two that I use are a .40 cal. 415- grain and a .376 cal. 335-grain. Other smaller bullets are used. But starting with 40-pounds gives you the confidence that a large batch of bullets will all be the same alloy. I know you can carefully weigh up smaller batches for a smaller pot but there will be some variability in the alloy compared to a single large batch.

When you shoot a lot you cast a lot :D you need a large pot  Those bullets is the summer supply shooting matches and Gong shoots for me and I usually have to add more during the season.

That box of dip solder I was given is a 600-700 lb 4 foot square use to make my alloy.
A large lead furnace is in order

If I cast that much I'd definitely be using the Magma Engr. Master Caster with a PID (https://www.magmaengineering.com/master-caster/).

Actually I'm seriously considering one anyway.

Wayne,
Winters are long and cold up this way :)
One or two hundred a night, three four times a week and it's not bad. Cutting the diapers and putting then on you can do that watching some boring news. :D
Melting all that solder down into small 10# bread loafs and 2# biscuits was the bad part. I have a shed floor full.

I looked at the master casters and two friends use them but I think I will keep doing it the way I have been.
