Chris, for full size Silhouette out to 500 meters, just show up and measure them for yourself. Likewise for 200 meter 22 BPCR. It is not that difficult. Get off the keyboard and actually check it out. You might be surprised how easy it actually is.I remember being nervous as well. A more supporting bunch of folks you will not find. Just do it!

2/5 scale for 22 bpcr...or close, 1/2 scale for Pistol cartridge and small bore lever action. Smallbore ( 22 lr) are thinner than PC. Full size out to 200 meters for lever action rifle. It's all fun. show up and shoot.
There are those that talk, and those that act. Make a choice.

The handgun silhouette guys call their big bore original targets "full size". These are the same targets that are used for NRA BPCR rifle silhoutte. Those targets were around quite a while, being used for NRA High Power Rifle Silhouette (everything shot off hand) , and they were adopted by the handgun silhouette guys about 1976.

The handgun silhouette guys use targets they call "half size" (dimentionally half the size of their full size targets) for two events....Field Pistol and Half Size big bore.

The handgun silhouette .22 rimfire targets are slightly smaller (outside dimensions) than the half size targets and are thinner.

They also have a handgun .22 game called 1/5 scale. Not sure if those targets are the same ones used by the old NRA game of .22 Rifle silhouette (everything shot off hand).

And there is their game for air pistols, the targets are really small!

If you are in a club that hosts a lot of silhouette games, your club has a large (and expensive) pile of targets! The Big Bore full size targets are often made of an expensive hard alloy compared to .22 targets, which are oftentimes mild steel.

For the record, 22 BPCRA are not 2/5 size. 2/5 might be a good approximation when trying to explain it to a new guy, but if you are having targets made, that won't cut it.

Just trying to keep it straight, Cody

As a convenient rule of thumb, the "regular" silhouettes for full range (200m to 500m) are 5 MOA tall, except that the PIGs are only 4.5 MOA and the TURKEYs are 5.5 MOA. Easy to remember.

Here's the official thing on 22bpcr targets http://www.22bpcra.com/forum/topic/curr ... templates/
The NRA Silhouette rule book used to have the official target sizes for those competitions in it, they used to also have downloadable templates , but not sure if that is all still available on the NRA website or not, but it might be worth a look.

Mike, The "original" .22 BPCR targets were 2/5 scale, until people figured out that going to the 50/100/150/200 meter distances allowed the use of existing pistol silhouette ranges. Theoriginal chicken and pig targets are significantly larger because they are shot at 80 and 120 meters, respectively.

22 BPCRA is not in there and their silhouette sizes are specific to the 22 BPCRA. As noted above, check their website for their dimensions.
