Has the OP done a chamber cast of his rifle and also his sizing die. Lots of good info there if he will do so.

Take about .050 off the bottom of the size die.

Heard from Jim (the OP). He reports that a bit of polishing at the bottom end of his rifle's chamber pretty much took care of things.

Yeah, the solid web area of these cases does not really resize much if at all in resizing dies in this pressure range. That is because it does not expand much if any either and has no need to be resized.
Using a fire formed case as a lap is the best polisher though because it maintains the chamber profile without bell shaping it any where.

Believe that is what he used. Did not take much from what I understand. Happy end result.

When lapping anything larger we think in terms of full thousands of and inch .001 but in reality it is in a few ten thousands range .0001. I've lapped a few bullet molds to enlarge or round them out and it takes a lot of lapping to even increase them a full one thousands. In barrel lapping with ever so much more area to dress down one can understand why the metal removed is in the one to three ten thousands range.

The chamber also could have just had a few scratch marks (elevated areas) raised by chips while chamber reaming. If this was the case then a few revolutions from the lap would take them down so the case would clear without problem.
