I just use the lee universal decapping die, in the hand press.
I think the funnel shape at the base may be part of the accuracy gain, making the primer flash more of a shaped charge and uniform powder ignition.

I now use a Distant Thunder de-capper or I have the RCBS press de-capper. Hopefully Jims decapper works because I just got it this fall!!!

My DT decapper hangs up in it, but if you do like Dean did and taper the bottom of it, it shouldn't be a problem.
