Tom that 45 2.4 is a good choice.
Pacratt, your rifle sounds prime for a 40-90 bn.

Re: Such a dilemma I am in
My shooting partner just needs taller sights on his 45-90 Shiloh Sharps. He has the load and bullets just runs out of elevation.
Both his "Money Bullet" and his "Tapered Gibbs" will shoot out farther than we can see. It's a fine LR rifle.
We will see if my 44X77 Hepburn can keep up.

I have a 45-90 Nbr 1 with 30" heavy. It will make weight for silhouette matches, however, if I had to do it over again I might do a 32". Might.
The only target that I did not shoot it at during the fall matches in Alliance was the 1000 yard one. It shot every other target easily. It is one of my more accurate rifles. It is also easier to learn to load for than a 100 or a 110 (I also have). If I would have had only the one rifle to take to Nebraska I would not have suffered having only the 90.
My vote is for a 45-90.

We thought about it for a long time Endeavor to persevere. And when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union. I didn't surrender, but they took my horse and made him surrender. They have him pulling a wagon up in Kansas I bet
