Kenny,

In the future would you consider posting the pictures right side up, my wife asked me what the hell are you doing over there, you look like a puppy with his head tipped off to one side and that one ear perked up

"I will take a Shiloh standard chamber any day, over any other."

Kenny,

I 100% agree! My Shiloh rifles with the standard chamber take a backseat to NO other chamber I've seen or tried when shooting paper patch bullets. And I have seen a fair number of other Shiloh rifles so chambered that are very accurate with paper patch bullets.

kenny,
your worst vert was not too foul by some standards.
and why was this?
because you asked all the right questions.
some answers you got from experience, and some of them you double checked here.
this thread was a great example of the process of getting a pp bullet to shoot in a given rifle.
first you chose a bullet length for your twist,
then you established the diameters required for inside a fired case and inside the bore with thinnish paper.
having established all this, you procured a mould, patched the bullets, and voila, good results first up.
can't get simpler than that.
now the real testing can begin in competition.

Kenny from your experience what length bullet should a 1-18 twist work best with. I'm mainly interested in the 45 2.1 but also have a 45 2.6 I might set up for long range.

Nothing longer than 1.450 in my opinion which isn’t worth a lot.

With a 110 you have more wiggle room with a 18 twist.

Kenny, what is the Buffalo Arms number engraved on you mouldings? JIMxxxxxx? I am trying to find it on their web sight. I think I might need something a little shorter for a 18 twist 45-2.6.

Thanks Kenny! My 45-2.6 is a 1/18 twist so a little shorter bullet is in order with a weight of 530-540 grains. Great stuff man!

Michael,
There are several BACO DD molds that may suit your
45-2.6 with 18 twist. All are at 1.46" and others have found them suitable.
#453545E 1.46" long , with a 0.2" major/base band length
#455545E , 1.46" long, with a 0.2 base band
#455546E 1.46" long , with a 0.35" base band.
Choice will depend on your chamber. If there is some freebore, you may want the 455546E with longer base band.
the other two , with 0.2" major/base band length is for a NO or minimal freebore chamber
The diameters can be chosen to suit your paricular chamber FF case I.D. and bore diameter.
No, I do not work for BACO. Just trying to help with these designs to help fellow shooters.
