but it is always worth seeing a good plan come to fruition.
just that sometimes a good plan turns to shit.

Some of the best plans ever devised failed because of incompetent execution.

I am so glad I left Colorado law enforcement and Colorado just prior to the legalization. Although it will probably rear it's head in conservative Southern Indiana someday.

I am glad to be retired also Woody.
Oklahoma Pot Heads sold the legal weed bill as an alternative medicine. I had a facebook argument with a woman who claimed marijuana cured her cancer !!
Now there are marijuana farms all over Oklahoma and even very small towns have dispensaries.

Pot heads argue that Legal alcohol kills thousands every year and there are alcoholic bums everywhere. When they use that example I quickly retort that they have just made my argument for being against legalization. I was surprised when it passed here. It's easy for most match dirctors to make a decision that if someone smoked weed they do not handle a gun.

People that get hooked on pain meds is another problem. I have known intelligent buds that got hooked on pain meds after they sustained serious injury . Most got help, more than one ruined their lives.

You are partially correct Colorado is going down hill and fast. Crime is up and the quality of life here is not nearly as good as it was especially since pot was legalized. There are so many .......shall I say, less desirable types coming here now it's pathetic.
Where you're wrong is in saying it's liberals/Democrats that are responsible. The reality is it's Democrats, Republicans and every other political persuasion. Colorado has always wanted to be a bigshot and get more people here and if looking like California does it then that's what they'll do. We live in the Colorado Springs area which can hardly be called liberal and it's the same way. The local news is always say "southern Colorado" which sounds a lot like "southern California" and the term SO CO which sounds like SO CAL is common now.
A while back I was at a gun range and a couple of guys were talking and saying the liberals were probably going to get the range shut down some day. I said no, it's the sub developements coming this way that will do that. They didn't say any more. Political blaming is just easier I guess.
To me the thing about pot vs. alcohol is that somebody can go home after work and have a beer or glass of wine and not be drunk. But when somebody does pot it's for one reason only and that's to get stoned.
For selfish reasons I hope every state would legalize it so they quit moving here. Or go back to illegalization.

We take the cookie munchers on a weekly trip with the camper yearly to different parts of this fine Country to the historical sites and Museums and a couple years ago we took them to Colorado Springs. Man has the place changed since I took my Kids there back in the early 80's.
That place has changed to tent city with guys sleeping in McDonald's spread out on a bench with hypodermic needle in the parking lot.

People move out of California into the neighboring States but bring that junk with them they are getting away from.
Chicago is the same way. People migrate out but bring the City with them they are running away from.

I told the Arizona Governor and a few legislators over 15 years ago it was Arizona's Western Border that needed to be secured.

My brother in law says he more concerned about the CA border than the MX border.

Thank you Bruce.
The thing at least here is that the local news won't tell about the negative effects that legal pot brought, they only bring up the tax money generated. Oh well.

I had not been to San Francisco since the mid 80’s. I recently had to go there. It sure did cure any inclination for being a librarian. A once very clean city has been trashed.

what has the human race come to that it needs drugs and prostitutes.
the best things in life are free, and choosing them is easy if you let yourself.

Why did you want to be a librarian before SF? How did SF turn you against Libraries?
