Could be yesterdays dust may evolve into todays mud.

I was sure hoping they'd all have to be drug out of the mud today but i dont think there's gonna be any mud this year.
Looked like awards were being handed out when I went by.

568 shooters. Several 37's, several 38's, no 39's and two forties. Winds gusting up to 30 miles an hour with heavy dust, one fire on the line Saturday caused by burning powder. It's hot and dry out here. Fire department did a great job of getting it out. I was surprised at how large it got in such a short of time. Match ran very smoothly until the presentation of the awards.

A little backing and filling as the scores were updated. Some people had to return their plaques for other plaques as the scores were recalculated. It wrapped up around 5 PM.

Wind and dust was on the order of the Quigley of Ought-Twelve, but noticeably hotter. Everything was very, very dry. Glad they got that fire out quickly; it could have been pretty bad. Cloudless until Sunday, then mostly to partly cloudy. A couple of minor sprinkles came over during the award ceremonies. Next day, the sky was nearly cloudless again.

I've only been to the Quigley twice. Once as a spectator and once as a shooter and it seemed like if that road right behind the shooting line was closed and the grass restored there wouldn't be as much dust. I didn't say there wouldn't be any dust just not as much.

This years Quigley was great. Lots of wind close to thirty miles an hour, sometimes a little more. Not as bad as 2017 where the wind meter said just over forty in the gusts. Hot, dry and dusty. Did I mention DUSTY. Only problem was shredding a tire on the trailer getting to Forsyth MT. from Spokane. Twelve hour trip. Met lots of people from all over the country and had a great time. Stopped at Shiloh on the way home and picked up a few things I needed. Dave Gullo beat me again but only by a couple.

Sounds like you had a great time Dave, regardless of the shredded tire.
Don't feel bad about Gullo finding and holding the lead, you get accustomed to it after a while. :D

Brian,

TNX. AGN for letting me shoot that fine shooter. I wish I would have seen that rifle up for sale before you.

That .40-65 Browning will get rechambered!!

Saw you waving with the fly over. Fine looking Cub.

Desert Deuce. Thanks I had a great time. Dave Gullo and I had a great time talking and I will try again next year to beat him. He is a tough competitor. I only needed two more hits to beat him. Brian was that you in the small plane that went over. I didn't recognize you even though we have never met in person only on line. You should paint your handle ( semtav ) on the bottom of the wing.

I went by in a flight of two a couple days before the match . And in a spray plane during the awards ceremony. That was all.

Another "Q" in the books, very hot, dusty, and loads of fun with friends.

Enjoyed the fly over at the awards ceremony.
