Its not a patch on being there but the dialoguing between you guys is as good as its gonna be for this convict. Keep up the fluids and dont cook yourselves . Sorry we cant be there to join the fun . Stay as cool as you can, keep safe and have a ball. We're there in spirit.

A little reminder for you Q people from a desert dweller. Staying hydrated is critically important.
This is especially important for people that are not accustomed to being out and about in high heat index conditions on a daily basis.
Drinking alcoholic beverages, and yes Virginia beer is alcoholic, does not aid in hydration. On the contrary.
True hydration begins the day before and the night before you are out in the heat. Hydration is at the cellular level. Think electrolytes.
Pay more attention to the heat index rather than the ambient. Plain old water is the main stay.
If you pinch together the skin on your upper forearm and it does not snap back and stays at some level of elevation you are dehydrated.
Darkened urine is an indicator of dehydration.
Infrequent urination is an indicator of dehydration.
For anyone, not just folks with underlying health conditions, heat stroke can be deadly.
If you feel woozy or flush, too late, now you have to reverse the progress of this condition.
Field treatment that has worked is cold packs on carotids, inside arm pits while getting to medical attention.
In low humidity a wet folded bandana on top of head under hat and soaking wet bandana around neck helps if applied early.
Most people unfamiliar with this condition their first reaction is denial, then confusion, then flat on ground.
Remember, the ground is a lot hotter than the ambient under most conditions. Tends to cook the body. Get up and in the shade, FAST!
Any wind accelerates surface evaporation.

Should mention, IFFFF, caught in early initial stages getting person into air conditioned environment as in a vehicle helps.
Just because you now feel better does not mean it is over, don't jump back out into the heat and resume activities.
It took you hours to get there and, based on experience, it will take hours to recover as in 24 hours.

I remember putting up hay bails as a teenager on our dairy farm and it would often be in the 90's that time of summer. I would actually drink a whole quart of water between wagon loads of hay and still be thirsty. Up in the barn hay maw it was hotter than out side and I would sweat so much that at the end of the day there would be a salt V on the front and back of my dark Tee shirt. Working that hard in that kind of heat would kill me now at 71 as advanced age also contributes to lessoning ability to endure and recover the effects of heat.
Salt intake is vital as well when sweating profusely !

Mid 80's strong west wind till about noon wind died to slight breeze. Lot of people shooting practice and sight settings. Vendor row starting to fill out. Nice day for pleasure shooting. Mb

Hot dry very dusty variable wind direction and intensity. It be a mean bitch . My shiloh collected a couple oz of dirt.dust clouds are something else. Mb

Bob’s update summed it up well! Good to visit with him, Kurt and Caroline, Larry and Lora, Jim, Steve, Mike, Steve, Tumblereid, and some new friends at the Restwel. I have some pics but not sure how to load them direct from my phone without going through a host? I watched Lora get three on the offhand bucket at 350 yards today! She also got a buff with her Sharps a few years back that made the Shiloh catalog. She proves you can enjoy shooting at any age!
