^^^^^ With a Hadley Cup, I’ve learned to really like the smaller Hadley’s , enough different size opening for most lighting conditions and also allows for closer sight settings if that needs to be a concern .

Re: Vernier sight set
Same, MVA's LR Buffalo (#103). It's all I need, personally. It fills the bill for me. I don't know if this vernier would allow me to shoot a full mile distance with my either of my 45-110's with my 111.0-gr. Goex/Swiss load, and 535 gr. pp bullet; I've never tried it. I need to some day.

I like the MVA buffalo soul, combined with a Baldwin front.

Yeah, I chose a long range Baldwin after using a friends MVA and feel it fully the equal in quality.
I also have an MVA 23 inch scope and silhouette mounts which are top of the line.

For a mile,
You need the MVA XLR Soule it’s much taller. The fact is you need two inches at least over your 1000 yard setting.
I know, I am the one that built the first mile target and match. 2007.

Honestly, I would like to order the taller staff and try it.

I think that even the long range sights get in the way for silhouette and midrange use. It's nice to have the long range sight capacity but if you never use it the midrange sights are much handier.

Re: Vernier sight set
Agreed. I think the buffalo soule is ridiculous. I have shot in 40-50 mph winds before and not needed it. If it is blowing hard enough to need all that windage on the buffalo soule, screw that, I'm going home! Although I am a big fan of MVA products, I do not like their Hadley eye cup. The adjustment is outside the cup and I accidently turn it occasionally when I am loosening or tightening the cup to adjust for elevation. Then if I don't catch it, I have a bad sight picture. The aperture adjustment is inside the cup on Baldwins. I really like the Baldwins, but I have had trouble with the spring that keeps the staff straight on them. None of that with the MVA's. The MVA's are also finished very nicely with beautiful bluing where the Baldwins are more mat black finished. As far as front sights, Baldwin is my favorite there and is what I use almost exclusively. As far as others, I think Hoke makes a good product, but I have not used them. I have had Kelly's and Shavers and did not care for either of those at all. In the end, it is personal preference, but you will see MVA and Baldwin in the winner's circle most often.
Hope this helps, Cody
