Rather than fire-forming to expand necks to a larger size, I use an expander button with several steps, going up 30 or 40 thousandths per step. Good sizing lube on them. They will expand .30-30's to 38 cal in one stroke, and 30-40's to .40 cal in one stroke. The multiple steps have short straight sections which keeps everything in line, and there are no wavy or unsymmetrical necks to contend with. Neatest, cleanest, quietest way I know of.
